13th century Mongolian courier sim The Legend of Khiimori becomes a battle against supernatural “poison of the earth spirit” with its Corruption Update
The 13th-century Mongolian courier sim The Legend of Khiimori has received a new "Corruption Update" that shifts its tone from a relatively serene horse-riding delivery game towards a darker, supernatural conflict. Developer Aesir Interactive has introduced a mysterious force called "Savdag-un khor" (poison of the earth spirit), which corrupts wildlife, distorts the environment and opens dangerous rifts across the game world, giving players a fresh survival and combat challenge to tackle alongside their delivery duties.
In practice, the corruption appears as purple patches and rifts scattered across the map, populated by new hostile creatures called Knots and Gnarls. Players can clear these zones using cleansing arrows and warding totems while making their rounds, and the update also adds a new horse breed, the Breton, described as Aesir's largest and strongest to date. The update follows Khiimori's early access launch in March and marks a notable tonal shift for a game previously known for its historical, horseback delivery focus.
- Khiimori's Corruption Update adds supernatural threats to the courier game
- New "poison of the earth spirit" corrupts land, spawning hostile creatures
- Update also introduces the Breton, the game's strongest horse breed yet
