Sony and Marvel Studios' "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has broken the record for the biggest Monday ever at the US box office, taking over $46 million on its fourth day of release. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, comfortably surpassed the previous best of $40.15 million set by "Black Panther" on Presidents Day 2018, underlining the strength of its opening run and its potential to become one of the year's standout blockbusters.

The result brings the film's four-day domestic total to around $406 million, making it the third-highest grossing release in the US so far in 2026, behind "Toy Story 5" ($463.3 million) and "Super Mario Galaxy Movie" ($429.8 million). Given its momentum, the film could also set a record for the biggest second weekend domestically, and there is a chance it becomes only the second film after "Avengers: Endgame" to pass $1 billion worldwide this quickly, which would make it the fourth film in 2026 to cross that threshold.
