ProbablyMonsters has confirmed that its gothic action RPG Crimson Moon will launch on 1 September for PS5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X, alongside pricing details and the reveal of the musicians behind its heavy metal soundtrack. Composer Chris Wilson and music manager Steve Pardo led the score's creation in collaboration with the band Health, guitarist and YouTuber Jared Dines, Periphery's Misha Mansoor, and Ice Nine Kills' Ricky Armellino, tying the music directly to the game's metal-inspired identity.

The game casts players as a Nephilim battling demons, undead and vampires through the fallen city of Gildenarch, in a style visually reminiscent of Dark Souls and Elden Ring but built as a shorter, focused adventure rather than a sprawling open world. It is structured around replayable district missions interspersed with return trips to the base Sanctus Clypeus to upgrade gear and interact with characters including a mentor, historian, treasure hunter and blacksmith. Crimson Moon will cost $19.99, with a $29.99 Deluxe Edition adding cosmetic armour and weapon items.

Crimson Moon is an upcoming video game from developer ProbablyMonsters, set in a gothic fantasy world where players fight through a fallen city against demons, undead and vampires. Its combat and dark visual style have drawn comparisons to the Dark Souls and Elden Ring series, though it is designed to be a shorter, more focused experience rather than a sprawling open-world epic.

A notable feature of the game is its heavy metal soundtrack, put together by composer Chris Wilson and music manager Steve Pardo with contributions from musicians including the band Health, guitarist Jared Dines, Periphery's Misha Mansoor and Ice Nine Kills' Ricky Armellino. This musical pedigree is being used to reinforce the game's dark, aggressive tone and has become a talking point ahead of release.

The game is due to launch on PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X, with a standard and a more expensive Deluxe Edition offering extra in-game cosmetic items.
