Reminder: The PS5 Release Schedule Is About to Become the Busiest It’s Ever Been

Push Square · 4 hours ago

Push Square has issued a reminder that the PS5's release calendar is about to become extraordinarily crowded, with publishers cramming games into August, September and October to avoid clashing with the launch of GTA 6 in November 2026. While the rest of August looks relatively manageable, September and October are set to be overwhelming, with numerous high-profile titles landing within days or even hours of one another.

September is particularly congested, with The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Marvel's Wolverine, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, Dune: Awakening, Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall all arriving within roughly three weeks. October is similarly packed, and five separate games are all scheduled to release on the 15th alone, including Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, Ratatan and Tales of Eternia Remastered. The article notes that some lower-profile titles could still slip into 2027, but expects most of the current dates to hold.

  • PS5 release schedule set to peak across August, September and October
  • Publishers are avoiding GTA 6's November launch by releasing earlier
  • Five games share an October 15th release date alone
