The Gotham has unveiled its 2026 Gotham Week programming lineup, headlined by the annual Project Market, the United States' oldest and largest curated marketplace for film and television creators. This matters for the independent film industry as the event has long served as a launchpad connecting emerging filmmakers with the decision-makers who can advance their projects, with past participants going on to secure major studio and streaming deals.

This year's meetings-driven forum features 80 in-development narrative and documentary projects, including work from Reservation Dogs actor Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs and a Liz Cardenas-produced feature with Lily Gladstone attached, alongside documentaries executive produced by Geeta Gandbhir, Katie Couric, Julianna Margulies and Rachel Maddow. New this year is a shorts-to-features section, spotlighting projects backed by figures including Lin-Manuel Miranda and Bob Odenkirk, plus a Global Producers Hub run with international partners such as Telefilm Canada and the Red Sea International Film Festival. The wider Gotham Week schedule also includes Gotham Week Honors on 30 September and a day of industry conversations presented by Filmmaker Magazine.
