Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil Veronica, its remake of the divisive Code: Veronica, has surpassed 2 million wishlists across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox and Switch 2 ahead of its release. The milestone was shared in a post on X thanking fans, and while wishlists don't translate directly into sales, they are an increasingly valuable metric for publishers, helping gauge interest and boost a game's visibility on storefronts such as Steam.

The remake was announced in June at Summer Game Fest, fulfilling long-standing fan requests for Capcom to revisit the cult favourite spin-off, and is due out sometime in 2027. It is being developed by core team members behind the well-received Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes, and will adopt a third-person perspective throughout, taking cues from the Resident Evil 2 remake. Capcom has also dropped "Code" from the title for a sharper name and confirmed the story is being adjusted to better align with the wider, evolving Resident Evil narrative.
