PC cooling manufacturer Arctic has pledged to pass on tariff refunds it received from the US government by cutting prices across its entire product range, drawing a sharp contrast with gaming giants Nintendo and Sony. The move comes after the US Supreme Court struck down former President Trump's 2025 import tariffs as unconstitutional, prompting affected companies to seek refunds; while Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft had all raised prices in response to the tariffs without explicitly citing them as the cause, most firms receiving refunds have opted to keep the money rather than lower prices for customers who paid the inflated rates.

Arctic said it had "proactively absorbed as much of the tariffs as possible" but was forced to raise prices on a limited number of products, promising at the time to reverse those increases if possible. The company is now cutting prices on its full line-up, not just the affected items, with reductions already visible on its Amazon and eBay US storefronts, and says the cuts will continue until every refunded dollar has been returned to customers; some funds will also support US technology education and PC community initiatives. By contrast, Nintendo has argued in a lawsuit that it has no obligation to pass refunds to consumers, while Sony faces similar consolidated lawsuits it is due to respond to later this month.
