‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’: Jennifer Stone Recalls Feeling “Wonderfully Weird” Playing Harper Finkle Again For Spinoff Finale
Actress Jennifer Stone has spoken about reprising her role as Harper Finkle in the finale of "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place", the Disney sequel series to "Wizards of Waverly Place". Stone, who largely left acting for a nursing career after the original show ended, said she had mourned the character and did not expect to return nearly 15 years later alongside former co-stars Selena Gomez and Gregg Sulkin, even after the spinoff launched two years ago.
In the finale, Alex Russo (Gomez) ends up in an alternate-reality "limbo" after leaping through a dimensional rift to save her family, where she finds Harper still living with her and engaged to former boyfriend Mason Greyback (Sulkin). Though her appearance is brief, Stone said it let her explore an alternate version of Harper and Alex's friendship that echoed early, unused spinoff ideas from when the original series ended, including one imagining the pair sharing an apartment together.
