Sophie Fleur de Bruijn, Whose Spec Script ‘The One Month Mark’ Sold to Apple With Jennifer Lawrence Attached, Signs With CAA (EXCLUSIVE)
US playwright, writer, director and performer Sophie Fleur de Bruijn has signed with talent agency CAA, Variety reports. The move follows a bidding war for her original romantic comedy spec script "The One Month Mark," which sold to Apple this summer with Jennifer Lawrence attached to star, marking a significant career milestone for the emerging screenwriter.
"The One Month Mark" follows a woman who has never lasted longer than a month in a relationship and a man who has never gone a month without one; Chernin Entertainment is producing for Apple, with Lawrence and her producing partner Justine Ciarrocchi also serving as producers. It is de Bruijn's second Apple project, following "Early Action," her feature spec about parents scheming to get their son into his dream college, which is in development under Kevin Walsh's first-look deal with the studio. De Bruijn also directed 2024's "Polycule" and trained as a comedian at Chicago's iO and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre; she remains represented by Anonymous Content and law firm Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
