Weezer have released a music video for their new single "C.E.O.", featuring a host of guest stars including skateboarder Tony Hawk and actors Giovanni Ribisi, Michael Peña and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The video is a self-referential homage to the band's classic 1994 clip for "Undone (The Sweater Song)", recreating the scene with a gold backdrop instead of blue while poking fun at the band being trapped by nostalgia for their early work. The release coincides with the announcement of further dates for the band's "Weezer: The Gathering" tour and comes ahead of their 20th studio album, also titled Weezer, out on 21 August.

In the video, comedians Rob Huebel and Rob Riggle play caricatured CEOs overseeing the shoot, while frontman Rivers Cuomo objects to reliving the past before the band flees a swarm of bees (replacing the original's dogs) and is replaced by look-alikes. Cuomo has said the song, from the record dubbed "The Gold Album" and produced by Kenny Blume and Klas Åhlund, reflects his frustration at being expected to keep recreating past hits. The tour begins on 8 September in Sacramento, running through North America with support from The Shins and Silversun Pickups, before heading to Japan in February 2027 and Europe next May and June with Taking Back Sunday. UK and European tickets go on general sale on 12 August, with fan club pre-sale access from 11 August.
