Diablo 4 coming to Switch 2 soon, new report says
Developing story first seen 2 hours ago
A new report from French outlet Dealabs Magazine claims that Blizzard Entertainment's action role-playing game Diablo 4 is finally coming to Nintendo Switch 2, potentially as soon as mid-September. The move would give Nintendo's console another major third-party title and follows years of speculation, though Blizzard and Xbox have yet to make any official announcement.
Dealabs, citing ratings board listings, says Diablo 4 is scheduled for Switch 2 on either 15 or 18 September, priced at $69.99 in the US with a physical "code in a box" release rather than a cartridge. The report builds on earlier hints, including a since-removed Indonesian ratings listing for the game's Lord of Hatred expansion and a briefly published Taiwanese classification for Switch 2, though it remains unclear whether the expansion will be included. Speculation is growing that Blizzard could officially unveil the port at Gamescom later this month, where Xbox is planning a large presence; Blizzard previously released Diablo 3 on the original Switch in 2018 and Diablo 2 Resurrected in 2021.

New here? Start with this
Nintendo's Switch 2 launched this year with strong early sales, and part of its appeal has been securing more demanding third-party games that its predecessor struggled to run. Diablo 4 is a big-budget action role-playing game from Blizzard Entertainment, the studio behind long-running franchises such as Diablo, World of Warcraft and Overwatch, which is owned by Microsoft's Xbox division. A Switch 2 version would mark one of the biggest recent examples of a major, graphically intensive game reaching Nintendo's platform.
Blizzard has a history with Nintendo consoles, having brought Diablo 3 to the original Switch in 2018 and Diablo 2 Resurrected in 2021, so a Diablo 4 port would continue that pattern rather than break new ground. Neither Blizzard nor Xbox has confirmed anything officially, and much of what's circulating so far comes from unverified reports and ratings board listings rather than an announcement from the companies themselves.
Gamescom, a major video game trade show held in Germany each August, is often used by publishers to reveal new releases and ports, and this year's event is approaching. That timing is part of why speculation about an official reveal has been building, though industry rumours based on leaks and classification filings do not always match what gets confirmed.
