Perez Hilton’s TikTok Livestream Was Kept Up Due To “Moderator Error,” Spokesperson Says

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Perez Hilton's TikTok livestream, which showed him naked and covered in what appeared to be blood while wielding a knife and apparently cutting himself, remained online for 15 to 20 minutes despite breaching the platform's community guidelines. TikTok said the delay was caused by "moderator error", even though its automated systems had flagged the stream for removal within minutes of it starting, raising fresh questions about the platform's content moderation processes.

TikTok said law enforcement was alerted and several related streams were closed within 90 seconds, after which the blogger's account was banned for violating community guidelines. Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., was reportedly hospitalised for observation, and a subsequent post on his blog said he was receiving medical care and asked for privacy for him and his family during the incident.
