Ferran Torres' future at Barcelona has been thrown into doubt after comments made during a US promotional tour sparked a backlash among fans, just weeks after he scored the extra-time winner in Spain's World Cup final victory. The 26-year-old forward, whose contract runs until June 2027, suggested Barcelona needed to "show me they want me" and come to negotiate, while also acknowledging interest from Paris St-Germain. His remarks have frustrated supporters, who feel he has been too open about a possible exit to strengthen his negotiating hand, particularly as he has never been a guaranteed starter since joining from Manchester City in 2022.

Torres made 207 appearances for Barcelona, 94 of them as a substitute, and finished last season with 21 goals and three assists in 49 games under Hansi Flick, rotating mainly with Robert Lewandowski, who has since left for Chicago Fire. If no new deal is agreed, Torres would be free to negotiate with other clubs from January under his current contract terms.
