British actor Alexander Johnson has written and will star in the UK independent psychological thriller "The Sacrifice," which also features Saffron Burrows, Steven Berkoff, Michael Landes and Hugo Stone. Filming has wrapped and the project, directed by Steven Fairman, has entered post-production, with festival and release plans yet to be announced.

The film follows Dr Charles Reed, a clinical psychologist played by Johnson, whose work with vulnerable young men is upended by an emergency call from a teenage patient, played by Stone, pulling him into a disturbing mystery about truth and responsibility. It was shot on location across London, Devon, Surrey and Buckinghamshire, and is produced by Johnson and Peter Bulbrook, with Stefan Boehm as executive producer. Johnson, whose credits include The Chronology of Water and The Wizard of the Kremlin, described the film as an exploration of "identity, belonging and the choices people make when they're searching for meaning."
