Kanye West is facing a lawsuit from an anonymous freelance producer, identified as "John Doe", who alleges the rapper failed to pay him for nearly two years' worth of work. The producer says he was brought in on an emergency basis just two days before the release of 2024 album "Vultures 2" and later worked on this year's "BULLY", and is suing for breach of contract, unjust enrichment and violations of freelancer protection laws.

The lawsuit claims the producer created more than 400 AI vocal generations using at least 13 custom AI voice models, contributing to five tracks on "Vultures 2" and further material on "BULLY". He alleges West never issued a written contract, failed to credit him on streaming platforms, and ultimately refused payment despite reportedly offering a "master buyout" at one stage. The producer is seeking at least $110,000 (£81,700) for his work on seven tracks, adding to a string of recent legal disputes involving West, including a settled lawsuit with a former assistant and an ongoing case brought by a model who has accused him of sexual assault.
