Alfie Templeman cancels shows to “get serious help for substance abuse issues and depression”

Far Out ·

Indie-pop musician Alfie Templeman has cancelled his upcoming live shows to seek "serious help" for substance abuse and depression, sharing the news publicly with fans on social media. The 23-year-old, who was due to appear alongside Bastille at Dreamland Margate and headline Leicestershire's 110 Above Festival, said his current mental state made performing impossible and that he now recognised the need to prioritise his health over touring commitments.

In his statement, Templeman apologised to fans but said he hoped to return once he had recovered, urging people to "be kind to one another". The Bedfordshire-born artist, who first broke into the music industry aged 15 and released his acclaimed debut album Mellow Moon in 2022, received messages of support from fans, while 110 Above Festival issued a statement praising his courage in speaking out publicly.
