MotoGP has extended its agreement with Silverstone to keep the British Grand Prix on the calendar through the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The move secures the race's long-term future after it returned to Silverstone in 2010 following a 24-year absence, when it had previously been staged at Donington Park, and reflects the UK's importance as a market and historic base for motorcycle racing.

This year's British Grand Prix takes place on Sunday, 9 August, as the 12th round of the 22-race 2026 season. Last year's winner, Italy's Marco Bezzecchi, currently sits fourth in the standings, while Silverstone has produced 11 different winners in its last 11 hosted Grands Prix. The circuit also stages Formula 1 and the European Le Mans Series, and will rejoin the FIA World Endurance Championship schedule from 2027, with Silverstone chief executive Stuart Pringle and MotoGP Group chief executive Carmelo Ezpeleta both hailing the renewed partnership.
