London group Tough Cookie have released their new single "Mercy!", marking a return following last year's well-received mixtape "The Countryside Is Good For You". The band mix 90s grunge-adjacent guitar tones with careful songwriting, and the new track continues that approach with an accompanying music video.

Frontperson August describes "Mercy!" as a deeply personal song, drawn from their own experience of processing a life-changing event and meeting someone amid the emotional fallout before making sense of it. The single blends colliding guitars with urgent, melodically desperate vocals, and its video was directed by Flower Up.
