Joan Jett cancels tour dates due to “healing process” after surgery

NME · 3 hours ago

Joan Jett has cancelled two upcoming US tour dates, in Costa Mesa, California and Louisville, Kentucky, as she recovers from orthopaedic surgery on a fractured vertebrae. The veteran rocker's team announced the decision on Instagram, explaining it was made in consultation with her doctors so she can focus on physical therapy and healing rather than risk her long-term health.

The September shows were called off shortly after Jett completed her first UK headline tour in 16 years, a six-date run that included a show at the newly opened British Airways ARC venue at Kensington Olympia, supported by punk duo The Meffs. She had also recently played a prominent support slot for My Chemical Romance at Wembley Arena. Her team said she is looking forward to returning to touring once she has recovered.
