The show blended nostalgic hits with material from her new album, luck…or something, reflecting Duff's return to music after building a parallel career as an actress, and underlining her enduring appeal to fans who grew up on her mid-2000s Billboard Hot 100 hits.

The New York date, one of the tour's biggest stops, saw Duff joined onstage by Good Charlotte to perform their 2003 track "The Anthem", a moment fans had not expected given how rarely she has discussed her past relationship with Madden. She also spoke emotionally about being back performing in the city, revealed that one of her children had been in the emergency room for stitches earlier that day before recovering in time for the concert, and reflected on how far her career has come since early hits like "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean". The tour continues with a second Madison Square Garden show, wraps its US leg in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on 16 August, and then heads to the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico.
