The animated film soundtrack "KPop Demon Hunters" has spent 54 weeks at number one on Billboard's Top Soundtracks chart, putting it just eight weeks behind the all-time record. The chart, launched on 30 June 2001, tracks soundtrack albums' commercial performance, and a run this long underlines the unusual staying power of the film's music with listeners.

Of its 58 weeks on the chart, the soundtrack has topped the list for all but four, briefly losing the top spot to Wicked: For Good, the perennial holiday favourite A Charlie Brown Christmas, Charli xcx's Wuthering Heights, and the soundtrack to this year's TV miniseries Heated Rivalry. Billboard also published a wider list of the 12 soundtracks that have led the chart for 25 weeks or more since 2001, noting that the five longest-running number ones are all from animated films; current record-holders include Barbie: The Album (33 weeks) and A Charlie Brown Christmas (31 weeks), with Twisters: The Album, High School Musical and A Star Is Born also featuring.
