Watch: Nasa astronauts conduct 6.5-hour spacewalk outside ISS
Two Nasa astronauts, Anil Menon and Jessica Meir, completed a spacewalk outside the International Space Station on Thursday to install mounting hardware. The work forms part of preparations for future upgrades to the station's power system, ensuring the ISS remains operational as older equipment is gradually replaced.
The hardware fitted during the excursion will ready the station's 3B power channel for the installation of new roll-out solar arrays at a later date. The spacewalk lasted six and a half hours in total.
