Actress Minnie Driver is recovering after being involved in a serious car accident in France, which left her with a sprained neck but otherwise unharmed. The Oscar-nominated star shared the news via an Instagram video filmed in London, in which she wore a neck brace and said she was "grateful to be alive" following the crash, which occurred a few days before her post.

Driver said she and her friend Ben were driving on a country road when another vehicle, which failed to stop at an intersection, collided with their car; she stressed the crash was not their fault. She credited the vehicle's 360-degree airbags with saving their lives and thanked a passing van driver who helped them before ambulances arrived, as well as friends and family supporting her since. She also shared a photo of the wrecked car and of herself leaving hospital, noting she had been based in Paris for much of the summer.
