A woman accused of stalking and attacking Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has been ruled unfit to stand trial by a US judge. The decision pauses proceedings while her psychiatric condition is assessed and treated, and could lead to a mental-health diversion programme in which the charges may be dismissed if she complies successfully.

Michelle Dick, 55, has pleaded not guilty to seven charges, including allegedly violating a 2024 restraining order and making repeated unwanted contact between October 2021 and March 2026. Prosecutors say she confronted Buckingham in March and threw an unidentified substance in his face; he was uninjured. She was arrested in Indiana in April, with a further hearing scheduled for 27 August.
