Fenix Flexin has acknowledged using AI in the creation of his hit “Rubberz”, after months of avoiding direct answers to allegations about the song. The admission matters because it settles a public dispute over the track’s unusually stylised sound and vocals, while adding to wider debate about AI’s role in music-making.

AI software company Treblo had recently said its software was used on the song, following a viral breakdown by producer Medasin. In an Instagram reply, Fenix said AI was not involved in recording, claimed he only learned about the app during mixing, and argued that new technology is a legitimate creative tool; producer Purps On The Beat had also previously sidestepped the question.
