SWFC News: Former Wednesday ace seals Championship move following Hillsborough exit – thestar.co.uk
Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Svante Ingelsson has joined Stoke City, remaining in the Championship after the Owls’ relegation to League One. The move removes one of Wednesday’s leading performers from their squad and gives Stoke an experienced, energetic midfield option for the new season.
The 28-year-old Sweden international signed a three-year contract with Stoke after making 79 appearances for Wednesday, scoring twice and registering five assists. He was named Sheffield Wednesday’s 2025–26 Player of the Season and will reunite with Sweden goalkeeper and former youth-team colleague Viktor Johansson; Stoke finished 17th in the Championship last season.
