Octopath Traveler 3 would have to “push the limits,” producer says, and the JRPG team knows how much fans want it to happen: “Keep looking forward to what comes next”
Octopath Traveler producer Yasuaki Hayasaki says a third game would need to “push the limits” of the series rather than simply repeat its established formula. While he did not confirm that Octopath Traveler 3 is in development, his comments acknowledge strong fan interest and suggest the team is considering what should come next.
The series has released two main games, combining HD-2D visuals with eight-character role-playing stories, as well as related projects such as Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent. Hayasaki encouraged players to keep looking forward to future announcements, but gave no release window, platform details or formal sequel announcement.
