Austin-based indie rock project alexalone, led by former Hovvdy and Lomelda live-band member Alex Peterson, has released a new single, “everydayishalloween”. The track marks another step for the project following its 2023 album ALEXALONE TECHNICAL RESEARCH, and reflects alexalone’s development from a solo DIY venture into a three-piece band.

Stereogum describes the song as a fractured, ominous piece combining scratchy guitar work with disorienting samples, likening its atmosphere to an “evil version” of Explosions In The Sky. “everydayishalloween” is available now through Spirit Research; alexalone previously played Stereogum’s Marathon Austin event in 2024.
