Overwatch’s new tank D.Mon plays like a combo of Reinhardt and D.Va, inspired by Gundam—and she can de-mech
Blizzard will add D.Mon as a new tank hero to Overwatch in season four on 11 August 2026. Designed as an aggressive “sword and board” mech pilot, she combines elements of Reinhardt’s shielding and close combat with D.Va’s mech-based mobility and pilot form, aiming to offer a viable solo-tank option in five-versus-five matches.
D.Mon’s mech uses a Plasma Sword, a burst-firing Fusion Repeater and a 650-health shield; she can also lunge while shielding and powerslide horizontally using fuel. If her mech is destroyed, she continues on foot with its detached weapon and can rebuild her ultimate to re-mech; her Limit Break ultimate delivers a damaging sword slash that increases enemies’ damage taken and grants her overhealth. Developers cited Armored Core and Gundam as inspirations, and said her fuel limits were central to preventing her mobility from becoming overpowered.
- D.Mon arrives in Overwatch on 11 August 2026.
- She combines Reinhardt-style defence with D.Va-like mech mechanics.
- Fuel limits her powerful mobility and pursuit potential.
