Konami investigating Silent Hill 2 Performance Mode issues after latest PS5 patch

Eurogamer · 4 hours ago

Konami is investigating problems introduced to Silent Hill 2 Remake’s Performance Mode on PS5 and PS5 Pro by Patch 1.07. The update was meant to improve visual quality, but reports of darker imagery and visual glitches have instead renewed concerns about the remake’s technical performance on Sony’s consoles.

Players have reported crushed blacks, overly dark shadows, shadow strobing and pixelation, while the 30fps Quality Mode appears largely unaffected. Konami has not given a timetable for a fix; the game has faced PS5 Pro image-stability and upscaling issues since launch, despite selling one million copies in under a week.

  • Patch 1.07 caused new PS5 Performance Mode visual problems.
  • Konami is investigating but gave no fix timetable.
  • Quality Mode appears mostly unaffected.
