Within Temptation singer Sharon Den Adel says the band is still writing and recording its next album, which she describes as a major musical departure from 2023’s *Bleed Out*. The group expects to retain some political and socially engaged lyrics, though less prominently than on the previous record, reflecting what Den Adel sees as increasingly interconnected global crises.

Den Adel said the new material could involve musical styles the band has not previously explored and potentially additional live vocalists on tour, but stressed that it remains in development. She said the forthcoming sound will be “100%” different, while declining to reveal specifics; Within Temptation has released eight studio albums and sold more than four million records.
