NME · 7 hours ago

Leeds' TESTBED music venue is undergoing a significant expansion, more than doubling its physical footprint from 10,000 to 23,000 square feet. The project, led by founders Laura Wellington and James Abbott-Donnelly in partnership with promoters AMAAD and programmer Ghostwriter, will welcome up to 2,500 attendees across multiple levels when it reopens next month.

The renovation introduces a new mezzanine level with bar facilities and balcony seating, whilst the main floor features a circular 360-degree setup around the DJ booth. Additional infrastructure includes festival-quality L-Acoustics audio equipment, a large LED video wall and ceiling display, quadrupled toilet capacity, and improved ventilation throughout the warehouse space. A second room is scheduled to launch in 2027.
