Marvel Rivals hits the Ozempic, comes back 40 GB lighter
NetEase has reduced Marvel Rivals’ installation size through asset and texture compression in the Season 9.5 update. The change matters because the live-service shooter had grown to occupy substantial storage, and the reduction should make it easier for players to keep the game installed as more content is added.
PC installations are expected to become up to 40 GB smaller, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions should shrink by about 15 GB. The initial update is larger than usual because the game’s assets are being repackaged, but NetEase says the final installed version will take up less space.
- Marvel Rivals is becoming up to 40 GB smaller on PC.
- Console versions should save about 15 GB.
- A large update enables the smaller final installation.
