Crystal Palace are closing in on a deal to sign Israeli international Anan Khalaili from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise, with the move expected to be completed within the coming week. The transfer forms part of a busy summer for the Eagles, who are strengthening their squad ahead of a Europa League campaign following their FA Cup success, with Khalaili's Champions League experience seen as valuable for the step up in competition.

The 21-year-old right-sided midfielder made 52 appearances for Union SG last season, scoring six goals and registering six assists, and the fee is reportedly in the region of £21m. Palace have already completed free transfer signings of defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oscar Mingueza, and are also poised to sign 19-year-old Real Salt Lake winger Zavier Gozo. The club's earlier interest in Brennan Johnson has not materialised, with the Wales winger instead set to join Everton in a swap deal involving Dwight McNeil.
