Don’t expect a GTA 6 discount anytime soon, says Take-Two CEO: “We preserved our pricing on Grand Theft Auto 5 for a very long time”
Grand Theft Auto 6 launches in roughly three months with a premium edition priced at $100, supported by robust pre-order demand. Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick stated during a recent interview that the company does not plan to offer discounts during the holiday season or the near future, signalling the firm's commitment to maintaining its current price point.
While Take-Two establishes the official pricing, individual retailers retain the ability to adjust their own margins independently. Zelnick acknowledged this dynamic but suggested retailers may pursue alternative strategies—such as pairing the game with console bundles—rather than straightforward price reductions, allowing them to remain competitive whilst protecting profit margins.
