Video: Final Fantasy Resonance Trailer Highlights Series Legend Cloud Strife
Square Enix has released another character trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance, this time showcasing series icon Cloud Strife as one of the game's "Visions" – allies who can be summoned to fight alongside the player during their journey. The clip follows a similar reveal for the Warrior of Light and continues the studio's rollout of character content ahead of the game's launch, giving fans a first proper look at a beloved hero rendered in the title's distinctive art style.
Though brief and light on gameplay footage, the trailer shows Cloud unleashing his signature combat moves rendered in Square Enix's HD-2D visual style, which Resonance becomes the first mainline Final Fantasy game to use, following titles like Octopath Traveler and Live A Live. The game will also feature series staples such as airships, crystals, espers, moogles and classic turn-based battles, and is set to launch on Switch 1 and Switch 2 on 22nd October 2026.
