The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 Console Images Reportedly Leak

IGN · 3 hours ago

Leaked images circulating online appear to show an unannounced Nintendo Switch 2 console and Pro Controller themed around The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary, fuelling expectations that Nintendo is preparing a major reveal for the franchise's milestone year. The photos were posted by Necro Felipe, owner of Brazilian gaming site Universo Nintendo, who said sources had confirmed the designs are genuine; Nintendo has not yet commented.

The images show a Switch 2 dock and console featuring golden Triforce motifs on a black/teal colour scheme, alongside a matching Pro Controller with gold shoulder buttons and triggers, plus packaging bearing an unrevealed 40th anniversary logo with an NES-era Link icon. Nintendo has yet to formally mark Zelda's 40th anniversary despite the actual release-date milestone having passed, though it has confirmed a Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of Time will launch later in 2026. The leak follows recent casting reports for Zelda's live-action film, due out on 30 April 2027, adding to speculation that a broader Nintendo Direct announcement may be imminent.
