Smoke warning as crews tackle two wildfires
Emergency services are responding to two separate wildfires that have broken out in the Grimethorpe area near Barnsley. Eight firefighting crews are battling one blaze off Park Spring Road adjacent to Grimethorpe Nature Reserve, whilst a second fire off Springvale Road is being tackled by six crews. The significant smoke generated by both incidents has caused authorities to close the A6195 road in both directions between Grimethorpe Colliery Roundabout and Houghton Main Colliery Roundabout.
