Amazon MGM Studios' film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's thriller novel "Verity" has moved its theatrical release from 15 May 2026 to 2 October 2026, according to a Deadline report rounding up everything known about the production so far. The film follows the studio's earlier Hoover adaptations, including "It Ends With Us" and the forthcoming "Regretting You," and stars Anne Hathaway as the title character alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.

The story centres on a ghostwriter, played by Johnson, who moves into the home of an established author, played by Hathaway, to complete her unfinished novels after an accident, only for dark secrets to unravel. Hartnett plays Verity's husband, Jeremy, with a supporting cast including Ismael Cruz Córdova, Brady Wagner, Irina Dvorovenko, K.K. Moggie and Michael Abbott Jr. Michael Showalter, who previously directed Hathaway in "The Idea of You," is attached to the project, and Amazon has released teaser and fuller trailers ahead of the film's release.
