Director Zack Snyder was spotted back on the Warner Bros. studio lot last week, nearly a decade after his acrimonious split from the studio over the troubled production of Justice League in 2017. According to entertainment site Page Six Hollywood, Snyder hosted a staff screening of the 1981 film Excalibur and received a "hero's welcome" from a full house of employees, sparking speculation about a possible reconciliation with the studio and renewed interest from fans of the so-called SnyderVerse.

Snyder reportedly took part in a Q&A alongside Warner Bros. film bosses Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, though most of the executives he clashed with during the Justice League saga have since left the company. His visit has fuelled speculation that Warner Bros. could be considering working with him again, potentially on his planned remake of Escape From New York, while Snyder has said he would only direct another DC film if it were an adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns. Since leaving the DCEU, Snyder has worked with Netflix on projects including Rebel Moon, Army of the Dead and Twilight of the Gods, though the streamer later shelved plans for further collaborations.
