Warner Chappell Music Signs ‘Freaked Out’ Hitmakers Fat Papi and Prodshushy
New Zealand creative duo Fat Papi and prodshushy have signed worldwide publishing agreements with Warner Chappell Music, covering their existing catalogues and future work. The deal follows the international success of their viral track “Freaked Out”, giving the pair the backing of a major music publisher as they seek to build longer-term global careers.
“Freaked Out” has exceeded 100 million streams and reached Spotify’s Global Top 100 and the Billboard Hot 100, where it debuted at No. 89 before rising to No. 88. The song’s social-media momentum was partly driven by summer-haircut-themed content; Fat Papi, a Kurdish rapper and singer raised in New Zealand, described the chart entry as a significant moment for his communities, while both artists said further music is planned.
