Peter Chan’s Toronto-Bound ‘The Road Not Taken’ Boards Moebius Entertainment for International Sales

Variety · 3 hours ago

Hong Kong-based Moebius Entertainment has acquired international sales rights for Peter Ho-Sun Chan’s drama “The Road Not Taken”, ahead of its world premiere in Toronto Film Festival’s Special Presentations programme. The deal gives the film a route to overseas buyers and audiences, extending a partnership between Chan and Moebius founder Fred Tsui after their work on Chan’s previous film, “She Has No Name”.

The film stars Zhou Xun as a television host whose early-onset Alzheimer disease increasingly affects her work and family relationships; Wen Qi plays her daughter and filmmaker Tian Zhuangzhuang plays her father. Moebius will handle sales outside the film’s home market, despite Tsui preparing to become executive director of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society on 23 September, succeeding Albert Lee.

  • Moebius will sell Peter Chan’s new drama internationally.
  • “The Road Not Taken” premieres at Toronto Film Festival.
  • The film explores early-onset Alzheimer disease.
