Stardew Valley Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Goes Old School With Physical Game and Manual

Polygon · 4 hours ago

A physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Stardew Valley is due to launch on 5 February 2027, replacing the current digital-only option with a cartridge and an 18-page printed manual. It matters mainly to new players and collectors, offering a more traditional boxed release with a map and introductory guidance.

The package includes the original Switch game plus the Switch 2 upgrade pack, adding mouse controls, four-player local split-screen, eight-player online multiplayer and Game Share for up to three guests. The cartridge includes version 1.6, although later patches will need downloading; it costs $39, compared with $35 for the original Switch physical edition. Existing physical-copy owners may find little reason to repurchase, since the upgrade pack is free on the eShop and the manual appears unchanged.
