Nicola Coughlan, Charithra Chandran, Kate Winslet & More Join Netflix’s ‘Charlie Vs. The Chocolate Factory’ As Streamer Sets Release Date & 47-Day Theatrical Window
Netflix has announced that animated film Charlie vs. the Chocolate Factory will receive a global cinema release on 5 November 2027 before streaming on Netflix from 22 December. The project expands the Roald Dahl story with a new premise and signals Netflix’s continued willingness to give major films lengthy theatrical runs.
Nicola Coughlan, Charithra Chandran, Samson Kayo, Christopher Chung, Kate Winslet and Helena Bonham Carter have joined the voice cast, alongside Kit Connor as Charlie Paley and Taika Waititi as Willy Wonka. Directed by Jared Stern and Elaine Bogan, the film will have a 47-day cinema window, with Sony handling international distribution; Netflix is also planning confectionery and toy tie-ins for 2027.
