The Guardian is inviting readers to submit questions for Amy Lee, the frontperson of Evanescence, for an upcoming Film & Music reader interview. The feature offers fans an opportunity to ask about the band’s long career, Lee’s influence in a male-dominated rock scene and Evanescence’s distinctive blend of metal, classical music and piano-led songs.

Evanescence rose to international prominence with 2003 single Bring Me to Life and has since sold millions of records and won Grammy awards. Their sixth album, Sanctuary, was released digitally in June, addresses US political turmoil and will be issued on vinyl in September; it was produced by Jordan Fish and precedes a UK tour. Questions can be posted in the comments until 10am BST on 17 August, with Lee’s answers due in a later edition.
