Jon Batiste has cancelled three scheduled concerts in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New York, citing unspecified “personal circumstances”. The cancellations affect appearances due between 13 and 15 August and come as the eight-time Grammy winner prepares to release two new albums.

Batiste said refunds would be available from the original point of purchase and that he hoped to return to performing soon. His next listed show is in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on 20 August, with further August and September dates still scheduled; his solo piano albums Monk Meditations and Monk Movements, inspired by Thelonious Monk, are due for release on 14 August.
