CHRIS JERICHO: FOZZY Is ‘Very Proud’ Of Having A Song Like ‘Judas’ That All Rock Fans Know
Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho has said the band is “very proud” that its 2017 hit “Judas” has become widely recognised among rock fans. He described the song’s mainstream reach as a rare achievement, comparing it to defining tracks by Metallica, AC/DC and Foo Fighters, and said it has helped establish Fozzy’s place in rock music.
“Judas” reached the top five of the US rock chart, received RIAA gold certification in 2022 for 500,000 certified units, and its video has attracted tens of millions of YouTube views. Jericho said he insisted it should be the album’s opening track and first single, despite initial label interest in “Painless”, while noting that Fozzy’s new single “I Know Evil” is the first song since “Judas” to give him a similar feeling.
