Armagh Planetarium has hosted an immersive early-listening event for Phoebe Bridgers’ forthcoming solo album, Lost Weekend, pairing its 16 tracks with night-sky imagery by National Geographic photographer Babak Tafreshi. The sold-out, phone-free screenings gave fans a preview before the album’s Friday release and highlighted Armagh as an unexpected venue for an international contemporary music event.

The experience is available in 35 countries, with Armagh and Glasgow the only UK locations. Armagh held four screenings on Tuesday and planned four more on Thursday, while attendees locked phones and smart devices in magnetically sealed pouches; some travelled from County Waterford, a six-hour round trip, to attend. Bridgers’ first solo record in six years follows the success of her band project boygenius, and fans cited her relatable songwriting and the distraction-free setting as key draws.
