Patchway Studios, a Bristol-based production facility that has supported programmes including Rivals and A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, is facing a potential closure threat through a winding-up petition from an investor. The case matters because a successful petition could force the company into liquidation and disrupt a studio business that has worked on several major UK and international productions.

Angel investor Annabel Schild says she is owed about £100,000 from a 2022 loan that fell due in May 2024, alleging the company said it could not repay either the loan or interest. Patchway says the matter will be resolved, maintains other investors have rescheduled their loans and says Schild has received returns in recent years; the High Court hearing was adjourned, while the parties dispute whether another creditor supports the petition.
