Amy Sedaris has joined the cast of Apple TV’s comedy series “Protective Custody”, alongside Ben Stiller and Benicio Del Toro. The programme centres on a disgraced financier accused of major fraud who enters protective custody before trial, where he must navigate prison life and the fallout from his alleged actions. The casting strengthens the profile of an Apple Studios comedy with established actors and high-profile creative talent behind it.
Sedaris’s role has not been disclosed. She is known for co-creating and starring in “Strangers with Candy”, as well as “At Home with Amy Sedaris” and “BoJack Horseman”, and has received two Emmy nominations. Mike Judge is co-writing, executive producing and set to direct, with Steve Hely and Dave King serving as co-writers, executive producers and co-showrunners; Stiller will also executive produce through Red Hour.
